Biography

Accomplished manager, researcher and healthcare quality expert with over 15 years of experience in academic research, laboratory management, and institutional accreditation. Currently pursuing a PhD program in Molecular and Cellular Biology at KAUST, with research focused on coral symbiosis and resilience.

Research Interests

I am conducting research on Spatial Genomics and Temporal Transcriptomics in Non-Model Organisms:
Unraveling the Molecular Complexity of Cnidarian-Dinoflagellate Symbiosis, which explores the genetic and transcriptomic interactions between corals (cnidarians) and their symbiotic dinoflagellates to understand how these relationships contribute to coral health and resilience. This work directly aligns with the objectives of the KAUST Coral Restoration Initiative, as it offers critical insights into coral resilience under environmental stressors such as temperature fluctuations and acidification. By identifying molecular markers and understanding the symbiotic mechanisms at play, my research could contribute to
improving coral restoration strategies, enhancing coral survival rates, and informing the selection of resilient coral strains for restoration efforts. I am eager to collaborate with KAUST to apply these findings to advance coral conservation and restoration in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
